On a mission to make
a difference through transformational brands (like yours)

Every year, people seem to grow more overstimulated and less peaceful.

Our attention spans keep shortening. Our hunger for connection grows and grows. We reach for media, numb to its vice grip on our minds.

That media influences our thoughts and moods, leaving our wellbeing at the whim of an algorithm.

That’s why brands have the potential for such profound influence.

The brands who cast a hopeful new story will be the beacons of our era. It’s like building a glowing mini-culture as a safe haven. The more it grows, the more the message disrupts these cycles of unwellness.

For me, every word feels like part of that mission (idealistic as it may be).

Why bother? Honestly, I’m bored of dysfunction.

I’m so bored of the tired societal stories we all know so well:

“Your productivity equals your value”
“Just take more medicine”
“Focus and grind to be happy one day
“It’s hard to make friends as an adult”
“You don’t need intimacy, you need a dopamine hit/a substance/a tv show”

…On and on and ON. Boring.

I’ve seen too many clients’ customers rave about their health, growth, and peace to believe that bunk. That’s why I love working with wellness and transformation brands.

My favorite thing about my work is listening to the founder.

Deep listening for the soul of a brand and the why behind it all is so satisfying. Distilling it and seeing eyes tear up is fun, too.

It’s just messaging, yes, but messaging has changed the world many times before.

Also, it’s nice to help good people make more money.

Naturally, there are also business outcomes too- your marketing converts, you get more customers and keep them, and you have to spend less to make more money.

I’ve written best-performing ads and dramatically improved page conversions and launch outcomes.

Pretty cool.

Primarily, though, I’m here to help amplify positive brand stories in a world that needs it.

You’re still here? :’)

Here’s my personal bio: I live in Austin, Texas and am from north of Atlanta. I started my business in 2018 in San Diego, in one of the first StoryBrand Guide cohorts.

All the people who know me best hear about my art, my events, and my newsletter, Vivid Candor. If you poke around katyward.com, you’ll see more about all these projects and my quest to live vividly.

Other details about me are that I spend a lot of time connecting with people, I meditate twice a day, and I had way too much fun making this site unnecessarily colorful.
